Minimal Surface Structures

The focus of this project was the creative and experimental examination of minimal surfaces – that is, structures that form the smallest possible surface area between defined edges. The starting point was soap films, whose physical behavior was used to create real structures. In addition, digital simulations were carried out in Blender to further develop the forms and to realize them as 3D models using additive manufacturing. The work is at the interface between material experimentation, digital form-finding and physical implementation.
